Go bush.
Walk slow.
Look up
let other walkers overtake.
Look down
drop your pack.
Kneel.
Knead your palms into the earth:
feel the heartbeat of footsteps
moving away.
Press your forhead to the mulch
the smell is cool, rich:
think of black forest cake.

Turn your head.
Feel your eyelashes brush
the gills of a rainforest mushroom.
See the world you're in.

Yes, it's the same sun
whispering in this fungus
as illuminates and softens bone china.
Each gill, no wider than your lash
is a structural beam
for that translucent cup.
